Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception Review
This is the first instalment of the uncharted series that I have played and all I can really say on it is that I am disappointed that I waited this long to get into the series. The only reason why I even first bought the game was because it is made by naughty dog the creators of The Last of Us. A little fact about these two games are that they were being made at the same time by naughty dog but there were two different teams, team A where the people who created Uncharted 3 while Team B where the creators of The Last Of Us.
The story of this game is very interesting as it involves the two main characters of the game, Nate and Sully. They are looking for a treasure/city that was last discovered by Sir Francis Drake who was sent there by Queen Elizabeth. So the way in which they try and discover this new/old city is by following the path of Francis Drake and finding some of the clues that where left behind. The start of the story was him and sully about to trade of a ring that Nate has had since he stole it when he was a kid. After the beginning scene you actually go back to this age and you are shown how he and sully first met. It is also in this scene that you are introduced to what Nate needs to be able to solve some of the clues that are left behind by Drake. It will require the ring that Nate had originally taken and another piece that the ring enters and it makes it into a translator that helps with solving the clues.
However it is not all plain sailing as going to different countries and translating different words, you do have different enemies to go against and by different enemies I mean 2 and both are British. You know what people say ‘British people make the best villains’. Which is true I don’t know if it is our accents but British villains just seem a lot more evil than any other nation.
What I think of this game
For me when I first put this game in I was expecting great things from the get go especially as I played the last of us first and to be honest I wasn’t let down even a little bit. The action adventure genre in which this game holds is excellent, the reason for this might be the way the game feels while playing it or because there is a mixture of free running and fast paced gameplay involved. I don’t really know but all that I do know is that I fell in love with this game and couldn’t play anything else until I was able to beat it.
Bad and Good Parts
I am always looking for something to fault a game with whether it is a glitch or something about the voice acting that doesn’t sink up. But I have got to hand it to naughty dog here as they created an amazing game here and the only slight glitch I encountered while playing is walking up the stair and my feet would disappear but saying that I have yet to find a game that has made a perfect animation while walking up the stairs.
Well I bet you can guess from what I have written that I really enjoyed this game and simply loved it and barely found anything wrong with it. That is why I am going to give it a 9.4 out of 10 simply because it was amazing.
Anyway guys this has been Aaron Morrsi and I’ll see you next time
