Batman Arkham Origins Review

Batman Arkham Origins Review

So I finally got around to playing this game and with it managing to complete all batman Arkham games until Arkham knight comes out next month and I’m really looking forward to it.

This is the pre sequel to the other two Arkham games so it gives you a lot of information on how some of the characters came into play and shows you who Harley Quinn was before she turned evil. It is Christmas Eve in the game and all in that one day a lot happens and somehow all of what happens, happens at night time. The whole story is based around that black mask has placed a $50 million dollar hit on batman head. This means all of the major assassins are coming for batman, these include firefly, deathstoke and bane. A lot of the game is up to you beating this assassins to try and stay alive but also while doing this try and find out why black mask placed the bounty on your head. I should say that at this point batman has never heard of the joker, just to let you know. I don’t really want to get anymore into the story just that out of the three Arkham games this one has got the best story.

As Arkham origins is the newest game out of the series that it is of course going to have the best graphic style, well you would think that. The thing is I don’t think there is much improvement between City and Origins and the only obvious improvements is the background of the game and that is mainly because it is snowing all the time so it look amazing. However batman and all the enemies aren’t any better looking and in fact after a while of playing the game they all kind of blend together. I don’t think this would be the case if the game had improved graphically, all I’m asking is that after being punched in the face a few times you would expect to see some blood.

The music in this game was okay but not anything amazing, I think this is because it sounds a lot like the other two batman game and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the music was a direct copy. After a while it just gets boring listening to the same thing again and again. it is because of this that I actually loved the parts where Alfred would talk this is mainly because the music would stop playing.

Good Points

So I really enjoyed the ‘crime is happening’ parts as it give you an excuse to go and beat some bad guys and gain some experience points for those upgrades. I know that I could easily of done this after beating the story but I have never really been a big fan of 100% a game. Even though as I say this I am actually trying to do that with skyrim.

Bad points

You already know what I am going to say here and its got to be the combat, again the creator htough that a two button system would work for combat. Even if all they did was through a kick button in make it either O or B on the controller and it would fit perfectly instead of you just pressing Square or X and then countering when needed.

I liked the story of the game but I didn’t enjoy the actual game as much as the other two Arkham games and I am hoping that Arkham knight doesn’t follow in the same path

Anyway guys this has been Aaron Morrsi and I’ll see you next tim

  1. My major issue with this game was with the repetitive pummeling of bad guys. How many time do you need to knock a thug down got him to stay down? Seriously, when the freaking batman his you, you don’t get up. I quit because the number of enemies and drawn out fighting sequences was really, really boring. I was enjoying the story, but I couldn’t bring myself to continue.
