C.H.E.R.U.B. Maximum Security by Robert Muchamore Review

C.H.E.R.U.B. Maximum Security by Robert Muchamore Review

This is the third book in the C.H.E.R.U.B. series and it seems like I simply cant put the series down as this is my third book this week, something I haven’t managed to do since I was 13. Even though I have read the books all before there is just something about me reading them through again and then reviewing them which makes me want to read more. Even though the book reviews are about once a week trust me this is the third this week haha.

In this book it is time for James to go to prison, where he has to become close to Curtis Oxford who is the son of profound weapons stealer Jane Oxford. But the only way to be able to get to Jane is by getting Curtis out of jail. If that wasn’t hard enough they have got to do it without it being suspicious and Jane suspecting anything as if she even for one seconds thinks the police are after her then she is going to start running. Jane Oxford is on the FBI top 10 criminals and has been on the run for over 20 years.

James has been partnered with Dave in this book, someone who hasn’t been mentioned in the other two books so far. He will be Dave younger brother who are both in for robbery and murder of an old homeless women. To make it seem less suspicious they have had escape risk put onto their records so that straight from the off Curtis is going to know that they are able to escape and that Jane will know that they have tried to escape before.

There are some factors that couldn’t be helped such as Curtis has got mental issues and if he feels even slightly under pressure or stressed he will try and kill himself. The only reason he got arrested was because the gun that he used to kill 3 people jammed when he turned it onto himself.

How it was written?

For me this book was written amazingly, not just because it something that I haven’t seen yet from the series but because Robert had somehow managed to make me able to imagine what the Prison would look like and not just that but the trailer park where they stopped at. It allowed me to be able to get into the book so much more being able to imagine what was happening and what it looked like.

The way in which he describe Dave in the book was also a big help, as from the book I was able to imagine Dave as a big handsome guy, with the personality that he knew he was good looking and tall and be able to use it to his advantage.

I will put this book very highly on my recommend to read list, but only if you have read the first 2 books as well, as without it you might get slightly lost with the character development of James and how much he has matured through the first two missions/books

Anyway this has been Aaron Morrsi and ill see you next time
