The Fate of Ten by Pittacus Lore Review

Who would of thought that being at university would require me to do so much work and actually have to reduce how much time I spend reading. That is the reason why it took me over a week to read the Fate of Ten. But lets get into the review.

The sixth book in the thrilling, action-packed, New York Times bestselling I Am Number Four series! For years the Garde have fought the Mogadorians in secret. Now all of that has changed. The invasion has begun. If the Garde can’t find a way to stop the Mogs, humanity will suffer the same fate as the Lorien: annihilation.

There is still hope. When the Elders sent the Garde to Earth, they had a plan—one which the Garde are finally starting to understand. In the climax of The Revenge of Seven, a group of the Garde traveled to an ancient pyramid in Mexico known to their people as the Sanctuary. There they awoke a power that had been hidden within our planet for generations. Now this power can save the world . . . or destroy it. It will all depend on who wields it.

My Opinion

I had to state that it was the amount of time that I had to dedicate to my uni coursework that reduced the amount of time it has taken for me to read this book. Because believe me when I say that every free moment I had I used it to read this book because it is amazing and it is the best book in the series and it makes me all that much more excited  for the final book in the series.

We learn so much about Lorien and the rest of the garde in this book, not only that but we also get to see the reason why Setrakus Ra is like how he is and wants to take the Entity and make it give powers to everyone and not just random people. For me I think that is what was missing from a lot of the other books. It is all great to read about the garde fighting off mogadorins but by the time we have reached the 6th book I want to know a lot more about there back story, to be able to understand the characters a little bit more. So when we got to learn more about Lorien I was so happy, it allowed me to be able to understand Setrakus Ra a little bit more and understand exactly what he wants with the world. We even got to see a little bit of what happened when the rest of the elders find out what he was up to back when he was just a garde and not part mog.

I have said this about every book in the series so far, and that is when a specific section is being described then it is amazing. Guess what I am going to be saying this again, because it is, the way in which the Mogasaur was described made me actually scared of the monster. The way that he was just as tall as the statue of liberty I have got no idea how four and nine didn’t just run away from the thing. But for me I think it has to be the eyes that where the best part, the way in which they are described would both stop with the beauty and how scary they are. The eyes contain the pendants of the fallen garde and the rest that were stolen from the ones that are alive.

John has a new powers, well I say that it is a new power when in fact he actually got the power when he first healed Sarah and Ella. His power is called Xemic, it is a power that is extremely rare and it is also the power in which Pittacus Lore had himself. It allows the garde to mimic other powers that he has seen, so when he saw how badly injured Sarah and Ella where he copied seven powers and healed his girlfriend and friend. He doesn’t realise this until he gets to see Pittacus lore mention that he has the power himself. So what is the first thing that john does when he realises he has the powers? Well he tries it out and which power does he use first, Six’s invisibility and after that he tries again with Nine’s super speed but that time it doesn’t work out because he hasn’t focused as hard. I loved the way that even this late into the series and just about all the garde have grown up there are still powers being developed, which in my opinion is maybe the best part about any book.

Overall this book had everything that makes a great story, powers, action, a lot more action, anything fantasy and death (well maybe). I say maybe because technically she is not pronounced dead, I am not going to be saying who but I suggest you read the book to find out and not look online about it. Everything is written amazingly and I can tell you that you are not going to want to put this book down.

Anyway I have been Aaron Morrsi and ill see you next time.
