Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone Illustrated Version Review

So this the original Harry Potter book that was written by J.K Rowling but this new book that was released has got pictures that where illustrated by Jim Kay. Being the big Harry Potter I am I was so exicted about this and made sure I pre ordered it as soon as possible. So I have had this book for over a month but because of me reading other book I have only just finished this and here is my review of it.

Harry Potter thinks he is an ordinary boy. He lives with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and cousin Dudley, who are mean to him and make him sleep in a cupboard under the stairs. (Dudley, however, has two bedrooms, one to sleep in and one for all his toys and games.) Then Harry starts receiving mysterious letters and his life is changed forever. He is whisked away by a beetle-eyed giant of a man and enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The reason: Harry Potter is a wizard! The first book in the “Harry Potter” series makes the perfect introduction to the world of Hogwarts. WITH PICTURES

Taken From Goodreads.

So we all know just how good the first book is in harry potter and for a long time it was my favourite book of all time. But now I am able to re read this book with the pictures that when I was a kid I hoped would be there. Let me say that because of just how amazing J.K.Rowling rights all the pictures that are in the book are exactly how I imagined them through the many different time of reading the books before I watched the movies.

Every single page of this book has got illustrations of what the drawer was imagining while reading through and I am very happy to say that the illustrations are amazing and I loved every single one of them. When I first opened the book and had a quick look through it and looking at the pictures I had a big wave of nostalgia of remembering reading the book back when I was 7 and loving it.

The story itself is the exact same as it always has been, so that means it is still as equally great even after re reading the book over 10 times. With the added pictures I do think that the illustrated version is the best book and it is perfect for first time readers of the series and us life long fans.

Overall this book is just the same as all the other Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone book expect this one comes with pictures so it is so much better and I recommend that you pick this up.

I know this review is a lot shorter then normal but there isn’t all that much I can say about a picture book.

      1. Yea, books are generally pricey here. But’ll get it nevertheless. Haha! £10? That’s definitely a great deal, even after conversion, it would only be half the price now.

      2. Wow! That’s really cheap. Books here cost RM30 for paperback and double for hardback. RM30 is the minimum too. All the Harry Potter books costs over RM40.

      3. Yes, you’re right 🙂 Unfortunately, with the currency weakening, books keep going up in price. Let alone it being already expensive.
