Guardian Angel by Robert Muchamore Review

So it seems I am reading 4 different series but that just means I can get through some of the amazing work that authors are able to do, I am now onto the second book in the newest CHERUB series from Robert Muchamore.

Ryan has saved Ethan’s life more than once. Ethan thinks he must be a guardian angel. But Ryan works for CHERUB, a secret organisation with one key advantage: even experienced criminals never suspect that children are spying on them. Ethan’s family runs a billion-dollar criminal empire and Ryan’s job is to destroy it. Can Ryan complete his mission without destroying Ethan as well?

Taken From Goodreads.

After reading the first book in the series and seeing how much I loved it, I couldn’t pass up the chance on buying the second book straight away. I simply loved the first book and I was hoping that Robert Muchamore was able to do the same thing if not more in this next book. I’m not going to say anything except someone loses an ear, an actual ear so that’s all on that subject.

The story continues on from the first book where we are following Ethan and Aramov Clan and how CHERUB is going to take down the clan without any consequences. So how are they going to do this? Well they are going to need Ethan’s help but will that mean Ryan will have to see Ethan again. The whole way through this book I couldn’t stop reading, it was almost like I needed to know what was going to happen with Ethan, Ryan and Ning it was just amazing. It has been a long time since I had managed to read a whole book in a day but I managed to do that with Guardian Angel, it was simply a fantastic story I couldn’t put down.

The descriptions that were used in this book to describe all of the different country that the group and clan travelled in made it so easy to imagine what the place would look like and all the surroundings and Robert Muchamore did that much of a good job. I have never been or seen Kayne and the same can be said for Kyrgyzstan but I was still able to get a good enough picture in my head from the writing that it pretty close to what I imagined when I went and checked out the place on google later on.

There really much advancement with any sort of love story happening as a lot of the time the agents are all focusing on the mission. However Ryan does have some weird relationship between him and grace where they were dating but they broke up, when they meet up again let’s just say something weird happens.

I also want to mention Ethan Grandma a little bit as after one particular scene she became my favourite character in this book, im not going to spoil anything but turns out that Ethan’s little old sick grandma is still a badass and you can’t help but love her for it.

I do love how even though the genre that this book has been given is YA but for me, this is nothing like any other YA books. The only reason why it might even be considered this is because of the age of the character but this is just like any other spy books. What I mean by this is that there are people getting killed, tortured and kidnapped and putting this all in a book which has children spies just in my own opinion makes for a very interesting read and I do recommend that people of any ages read this book and tell me what you think of this type of work.
