We now have only one book left until the end of the series and I am really looking forward to it. I had a day off work so I decided to get this book finished and I did so, time for a review.
The eleventh part of the Saga of Darren Shan – one boy’s terrifying journey from human to half-vampire to Vampire Prince. He will rule the night and destroy the world. The Lord of the Shadows.
Taken from Goodreads
A lot happened in this book in such a small amount of time and I personally don’t know how Darren Shan could manage to put all of this into one book that only has 185 pages and not make it feel rushed. There are deaths, new people coming into the story and the purge happens again, so like I said a lot of stuff is in these 185 pages.
As this is a long series I don’t want to spoil anything for potential readers so I am trying to make this sounds as vague as possible so here we go. Vancha comes back, as well as Debbie and Alice and they try and find steve in order to put the war of the scars to an end and make sure it is going to go the vampires way. However during their journey there is going to be some difficult decision including allowing some people to live or deciding if they deserve to die.
That is about as vague as I can get without giving away any spoilers of what happens in this book but let me tell you that it is a great read and it will be very hard for someone to get distracted while reading this book, trust me I have ADHD and I managed it in one sitting which for me is a huge thing. Every page is a page turner just making you want to keep reading to find out what is going to happen to Darren and friends, are they going to live or die?
There are two major days in this book and at the end one of them hasn’t finished so I a writing this review straight after in order to get straight onto the next book to find out what happened. Is Steve going to be as evil as everyone thinks including himself or is Darren or Vancha going to be able to stop him?
Anyway Darren Shan being the great author he is has written another great book, and it is time to see if he is able to write a just as good finale to a series. Here’s hoping he has.
