So I have got lots of different series I could be finishing instead of starting a new one but I didn’t feel like reading any of the books I owned expect for this one at the time. So I have started a new series and finished the first book as well so it is time for a review.
THREE FLYING BIRDS…
ONE FOR EACH MEMBER OF THE FAMILY I LEFT BEHIND.
Sixteen-year-old Tris is forced to make a terrible choice. In a divided society where everyone must conform, Tris does not fit.
So she ventures out alone, determined to discover where she truly belongs. Shocked by her brutal new life Tris can trust no one. And yet she is drawn to a boy who seems to both threaten and protect her.
The hardest choice lies ahead.

When I started reading this all I could thing about is how this is going to be a hunger games remake as just so much reminded me of it. I mean with the female main character being in a world where people are separated because the last time they weren’t a war was started you can’t blame me for thinking about the hunger games. After reading the book I don’t think it is based from hunger games as there are a lot of differences but at the beginning she most of taken some inspiration from that series.
I found the read to be enjoyable even though as some points I did find myself being a bit bored and was only reading so that I could carry on the book and finish it. However I am glad I finished the book as everything that the book was leading up to all came to a decent conclusion at the end. what I did notice was how much happened in the last 80 pages compared to what happened in the first 400. The first 400 pages were slow paced with days going back in a few chapters or so with the pace only increasing to try and make sure that the readers haven’t fallen asleep while reading. I do like books that keep the same sort of pace throughout the book with a big ending however I think that if the author added a few more fast paced sections to keep the reader entertained throughout the book that would of helped greatly.
One thing I have got to say about this book is that the main character Tris had one of the best character developments in one book I have ever seen. She goes from being this girl who is being kept down because her faction doesn’t believe in being selfish to finding out she is Divergent and being able to do what she wants as no one is able to control her. At times I did find myself being a bit annoyed by tris and what decisions she was making as I thought they were stupid. Especially when she says she has a plan which she hasn’t thought about and magically it all seems to come together perfectly with a few deaths along the way. I would of liked to see her fail a little bit more to find out what her reactions would have been then.
I did enjoy this book and will be finishing the series as I want to find out what is going to be happening to the world. So I do recommend this book but just don’t get your hopes up to high if you have been reading all the reviews about it especially the ones that have given it a 5 out of 5 as I personally would give it a 3.5/5
