Rick and Morty Season 2 Review

After finishing the first season of Rick and Morty I went straight onto the second season as I had to find out what was going to happen with more adventures involving Rick and Morty. Anyway, it is time for a review.

This season has got 10 episodes which means we get to follow the smith family on 10 weird adventures that had me hooked throughout the season. We start of the second season right after the first season finished with the whole world expect for Rick, Summer and Morty is stuck in time. The second season technically starts about 6 months after the first season ends but nothing has changed. We finish the season with Rick sacrificing himself to the government for his family to have a normal life, and the final thing we see of Rick is him being locked in jail. This makes you wonder how the next season is going to start and what the writers are going to be able to think of to get Rick of the situation he is in.

The animation of the season is just as good as the first one, not a lot has changed but I like it just as much. In the show, we are introduced to a lot more aliens and we get to see more of the artists can do which is always great.

I do like the fact that we get to see more of the family, in the first season we had a lot of adventures that were just Rick and Morty and we would get to see the family as a cameo appearance either at the beginning or the end of the show. Now they are taking parts in adventures and in two episodes they were the main characters of the show which is great as I like Beth, Jerry and Summer as characters as they all offer something to the show. We also get to see Morty grow up a little bit in this season as well. Instead of being the wimp all the time he is now only the wimp sometimes as he has started to express his true feelings of angry towards Rick and other characters. I loved this when it happened especially when he tells Teen Rick that he is going to beat his arse.

The writing in the show is just as good as the first season if not better, the mixture of the serious and comedy that the show has got is fantastic and I love every second while watching. Of course, we still have those moments that are just weird but if you didn’t have those in the show then you wouldn’t be watching Rick and Morty.

What I love about this show is that there isn’t anything else like it, I have seen people compare it to adventure time because of its weirdness but that has got nothing on this show.

Do I like season as much as the first? Of course, I do, if anything I like it even more just because of the final episode. I still think that every person should watch this show at some point in their lives as I think they will love it, and remember get schwifty.
