Saga Volume 5 (Graphic Novel) Review

I finally got a chance to read Volume 5 of this great series, it had been a while since I read the preiovus instalments so I decided I might as well read through all of those to make sure I knew the story. Anyway, it is time for a review.

The Story

Multiple storylines collide in this cosmos-spanning new volume. While Gwendolyn and Lying Cat risk everything to find a cure for The Will, Marko makes an uneasy alliance with Prince Robot IV to find their missing children, who are trapped on a strange world with terrifying new enemies.

Taken from goodreads

In this instalment we get three different story lines that are all aiming to be part of one and I am loving every second of the three journeys and I am looking forward to when they finally meet.

We have got Prince IV and Marko together who’s main aim is to try and get back with their kids. Not only that but because Prince IV is actually after Marko but puts his kids safety first they make for a very interesting team to read about, plus with the fact that Marko tries to avoid violence at any cost and Prince IV who will kill anyone who gets in his way it is even more fun to see them collide on this fact.

Next up we have Dogan, Alana, Hazel and Marko’s mother who are currently being kidnapped by Dogan. Dogan has called up the help of The Revolution in trying to stop the war any way possible, but he finds out too late that they will do anything including kill him to get their own way. This is my favourite storyline in this book because it has got so many twists and turns plus the addition of new characters which look amazing thanks to the amazing work by Fiona Staples.

Finally we have got Gwendolyn, Sophie and The Brand who are working together to find the final ingredient in order to wake up The Will from his coma and bring him back to the people who love him. I find this storyline to be very interesting to read about especially with Sophie as she is a character I think that needs to be more involved because when she is talking it is always interesting and I just want to know more about her.

The story is bloody brilliant and I cant think of a way that it can be improved which just made for an even better read.

The art as well is great and you really get to notice this when a few pages have got a language that you wont understand so it requires you to look at the art more so you are able to understand the story better. Even without the need for words the art does all the story telling you need.

If you have been rerading throughout the series then you are going to love the next book even more and if you are reading this before you start the series then trust me when I say you are going to love this series no matter what you are into.

If you want to buy the graphic novel then here is the link to buy it on amazon:
