Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 2 Review

After loving the first season I had to jump straight into the second season and as you can tell I finished this season in one day. Anyway, it is time for a review.

At the end of the first season, Jake is asked to go undercover in the mafia and the second season starts with the mission ending and we get to see how jake manages to get back into the detective lifestyle. This season is a lot like the last with a lot of crimes being solved by the detectives at the nine nine with each one having something funny for us to laugh at thanks to comedy used. This season also has two follows ups to two episodes in the first season, we have got Halloween 2 where we find out what jake has got to steal next from the captian and we also have the return of the pntiacv Bandit where jake has got to trust both the bandit as well as Rosa in order to solve a long time crime.

The story is okay but you don’t watch this show for the story you watch it for the comedy. Of course some episode you do end up paying attention to what is happening like in Halloween 2 and the return of the Pontiac bandit as you want to know how things are going to turn out. But there is one part of the story that does get interesting near the end of the season and you do want to know what happens as they are two big characters in the show. I do sometimes wish they would add something more to the story or give us more details about the crimes they are solving.

Like I have mentioned before the comedy in this show is spot on, there are a lot of one line jokes all over the place and it is this that makes you keep watching. You never know when something is going to be said that will make you laugh. The last episode of the season gave me the biggest laugh and it was all revolving around Captain Holt when you watch the episode you will know what I mean as I don’t want to spoil the ending.  There are a few recurring jokes that happen in the show such as the names for Amy’s sex tape which gets more inventive with each passing joke.

The actors are fantastic, after watching two seasons of the show now I don’t think any of them could be played better by anyone else. Andy Samberg, Stephanie Beatriz, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Chelsea Perettim Andre Braugher, Dirk Blocker and Joel Miller are all the reason this show does so well as they seem to work perfectly together in order to make an entertaining show for the audience.

I think this season is just as good as the first if not better, I can’t wait to start season 3 as I want to know more about the staff at the nine nine and what they are going to do with everything that happened in the finale of this season.
