Pokémon Adventures #10 (Manga) Review

This is the first book with the new illustrator and I wanted to see if there were going to be any changes to the art so of course I got straight into this book. Anyway, it is time for a review.

This book revolves around a new character and that is Crystal, crystal is different from normal trainers as she aims to catch every single Pokémon she can find. It is because of this that she was given a Pokedex by Professor Oak as he didn’t know if Gold or Silver would be able to fill the dex and knew that Crystal would.  While on her capturing journey she comes across one of the legends that was inside of the Burnt Tower and makes it her new mission to try and capture Suicune and be the first to add it to the Pokedex.

I wasn’t expecting the change of character at all when I first saw the book as it wasn’t the first in the series to have a different character on the cover but when I started reading the story about crystal I couldn’t put the book down as I just wanted to know more about her and why she wants to capture as many Pokémon as possible. During her adventure she only adds one Pokémon to her team and that is the final Pokémon that Professor Elm had and that was Chikorita. She also has some impressive stats as she has seen 143 Pokémon and caught 142 with Suicune being the only one she hasn’t caught.

The art has changed a little bit and even then, I think that only a little bit more detail has been added to the art as it does look very similar but has a few slight changes. Of course, any change is welcome if it is good change like this one is.

It is nice to have a new character be part of the series and I am really looking forward to learning more about Crystal and if she is going to be able capture Suicune on her journey.
